01Strategy

With election officials resigning in droves and a media landscape that didn’t understand the real threats facing election workers, something had to be done.

In the lead up to the midterm elections in 2022, CLYDE led a national campaign with the goal of positioning the Committee for Safe and Secure Elections as a known media entity — ensuring CSSE members could share their message with voters, policymakers, fellow election administrators, and law enforcement about existing threats to our elections and the resources available to keep them safe.

02Solution

CLYDE designed and ran custom, intensive media training for Committee members preparing them for challenging discussions with reporters on issues like election worker safety, misinformation, intimidation, political violence, fringe movements, and more.

Our objective was to position key members of the Committee as thought leaders and experts by developing messaging that resonates, conduct opinion polling, identify proper channels to reach audiences, and execute multiple strategic communications campaigns in fast-paced environments.

03Execution

As a result of our efforts, CSSE’s members appeared in every major national publication (The Washington Post, The New York Times, AP, Reuters, USA Today) and broadcast network (CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC), received over 500 syndications, were featured on Election Day broadcast coverage, and received ~$1.5 million in publicity value.

As the current agency of record for CSSE, CLYDE was recognized with the prestigious PR News Nonprofit Media Relations Award for the campaign executed during the midterm election cycle.
