Account Executive

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Account Executive to join our growing team and bring our Values to life.

The Account Executive plays a role on 4–5+ client accounts, depending on account size and scope. In this role, you take a primary role in executing scope of work activities, with a strong emphasis on earned media, thought leadership, content development, research, monitoring, reporting, and integrated campaign support. You track relevant industry and client trends and translate them into proactive recommendations. You are AI-forward and embrace emerging technologies as part of your everyday work. You have an appetite for learning and experimenting with AI tools, thoughtfully integrating them into research, content development, media relations, and account management to improve efficiency, creativity, and client outcomes. You provide excellent client service, respond promptly, anticipate needs, and contribute confidently on client calls. You are a strong writer who can draft and edit client communications, media materials, statements, communications plans, and other deliverables with limited direction. You support junior team members and collaborate closely with colleagues across content, digital, design, social, and influencer work. You actively participate in business development and look for professional growth opportunities by raising your hand for client work and firm initiatives. This role is best suited for someone who can step in with prior agency or communications experience and begin contributing quickly while continuing to grow.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Plan topics and assignments for client meetings, based on deliverables and needs
  • Confidently participate in client calls, as appropriate
  • Ensure all client deadlines are met and quality of work is high
  • Begin to develop personal relationships with clients
  • Anticipate client needs
  • Work closely and respectfully with internal client delivery teams, including content, digital, and design
  • Work with internal and external partners, including vendors
  • Participate in client and business development presentations, including trainings, results reports, new business proposals, and integrated campaign recommendations
  • Begin establishing yourself as a trusted client point of contact and confidently manage day-to-day needs when senior team members are unavailable
  • Carefully monitor client news, policy developments, and industry trends, and make proactive recommendations based on what you are seeing
  • Support and execute social media campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X, and contribute to influencer programs when needed
  • Identify strengths and opportunities for self and participate in company-offered professional development opportunities
  • Offer suggestions to teammates and leaders
  • Contribute to CLYDE visibility efforts

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • 2–4 years of communications or public relations experience; agency experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Speak with clarity, precision, and purpose in small and large groups
  • Experience drafting media pitches, press materials, executive thought leadership, statements, communications plans, and research-driven recommendations
  • Ability to support social media and influencer programs is preferred
  • Familiarity with GEO, AI search, SEO, or digital content strategy is a plus; training can be provided
  • Washington, D.C.-area candidates are strongly preferred, particularly for the collaboration and development needs of this role
  • Knows and uses AP Style and can edit work from junior team members
  • Comfortable with Microsoft and Google office products
  • Interested and comfortable learning and adopting new tech platforms
  • Experience supporting integrated communications campaigns, including digitally forward work
  • Interested in practical applications of AI and emerging search and content-discovery trends
  • Comfortable with digital platforms like Wikipedia, Reddit, Discord, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager and social media platforms
  • Demonstrated experience pitching media and supporting earned media programs
  • Seeks and is receptive to feedback; puts feedback into action

Compensation & Work Location:

The salary range for this position is $56,000–$76,200, commensurate with experience. Washington, D.C.-area candidates are strongly preferred, particularly for the collaboration and development needs of this role.
